This song is about moving out with your girlfriend and realizing time and time again that you try to make it work but it would be way better to go (Joe Strummer). You have too many things that you carry around with you that are not of grave importance: 12 boxes of books and two bookshelves, 8 boxes of vinyl, a ton of clothes. "You're like a girl, she says."
It's rough admitting it, but sometimes things don't work. This song is about those things that don't work. Compare and contrast it to your student debt and hers (theirs) as well. If yours is bigger RUN, just fucking with you, but run away real far and real fast. Haha.
